Hello there all !!! What a lovely day, a lovely morning, I get into my car and turn on the radio and the music is great !!!

Our radio channels play some great music, the DJ’s put on some great music, one after the other and these days if you change over to any channel you get good music.

Here’s the thing, when the song ends, I just don’t understand what they say after that !!! Ok, not to be mean but the DJ’s or presenters, have great voices, interesting topics, but what’s with the accent ? You guys are great on the radio, get rid of the accent, most times I’m sure you don’t even understand what you say.

I have met a few of these DJ’s and in their normal selves they are so much more understandable than they are on radio.

Maybe the radio channel wants them to put on the accent, but the thing is they don’t need to, because what they talk about is interesting to their listeners, they don’t need the accent.

Well it’s not a flaw, it just something that comes to mind every time I listen to the radio, I just think what the hell are they saying !!! Where in the world has this accent come from ?? It’s even funnier, when they put accents for local terms or words which they think sound better with an accent but they don’t know how to say, if they said it without it would be much better and better for the listeners.

The stations and the DJ’s are great, it’s only the accent which is a bit buggy, come on guys loose the fake accent, you don’t need it, people like what you talk about and would like to understand what you say a bit more

What does the title I mean ? I don’t know. Was that rally or whatever any use ? I don’t know. Was it an inconvenience to all those in the area ? YES !!!!

They just wasted a whole day !!! They inconvenienced 100’s of 1000’sof those in the area. Well it was great for the people who came for it, it was a free holiday, they got meals, got to tour the city, and probably got paid !!!

But what about the rest, I spent 3 hours getting from a distance that took me usually 10 mins. They inconvenienced the country by pulling a large number of it’s work force for their little party.

The people on the road in vehicles would have wasted enough of fuel, will they compensate us for that waste ??? It had to be on a week day !!!

Do you know how many accidents there were that day ????

Like the channel one banner shows it, the country is going to the dogs !!!!

The title may a bit off what I’m writing about but it’s just another topic to bash cops about their incorrect ways.

Recently a friend of mine was coming back home after work, the round about near Galadari you get a bunch of cops usually hanging around there. Now my friend he wasn’t talking on the phone, but well for some reason he was holding the phone while driving, but not to his ear.

Let’s just say it had fallen and he picked it up, and he was holding it in his hand till he could put it away.

Well the cop saw the phone in his hand and stopped him. My friend is not too fluent in Sinhalese but can understand. Well with reading Sinhalese, it’s more on the impossible scale.

Well the cop stopped him and said he was talking on the phone, when he clearly was not, he explained to the cop as best as he could, but the cop kept changing the word knowing he wasn’t too fluent. In the end knowing that my friend was a bit worried since it was his first ticket he said he’ll accept the ticket but he said to clearly state exactly how it was, that he was holding the phone but not using it, but as the cop said it was an offence even to hold the phone he accepted the charge.

We’ll guess what he got a friend to read the ticket and the dirty cop had put that he was talking on the phone, and nothing else. Yes my friend shouldn’t have accepted the ticket but when you are a bit timid and lost you can be easily pushed as you just want to move on and get on with your day.

These dirty cops pick on you if you are not in a fancy BMW, I’ve noticed this location where they are always on, I’ve seen enough of people who pass by using phones right in their face but they are cunning, I think they do a quick analysis of the person and what they drive and then stop.

Today on the way to work I had one of those Milo drink, and I was holding it in one hand while driving would this same cop stop me for having my Milo !!! ? I wonder, it was the same as my friend holding his phone, and not talking. What if the drink I was having was made to look like a phone, would the cop charge me fold holding a prink which looked like a phone and state I had a phone and was sucking on its antenna while talking ???? What if I was in my car, and singing to a song, would the cop stop me and say I was talking on the phone but he didn’t see it from a distance but he saw my mouth moving.

Well I’m bringing up all these, as I was stopped once, but I was stopped for the right reason as I was talking on the phone, so I was fine with paying the ticket. What I don’t like is some of these dumb cops taking advantage of people for the wrong reasons.

Anyway this is just my thought, and well next time you are stopped for not using your phone, do call anyone you can to help you sort it out, don’t let those jack asses push you around, again for the wrong reasons. If you are wrong then fine but if not, don’t wait silently.

I’m not a cop basher, I have a few friends who are police and they are very nice people, I even told them this story and said I wanted to write something about it, and they also agreed it should be done. The police are a large organisation and not all of them can be watched, so the few that are jack asses the stories to come, are for you.
