“In Sri Lanka it is quite common for people to be knocked down by racing vehicles on the pedestrian crossing itself. Here a policeman with some pedestrians are seen crossing the road at Town Hall while the red light is on.”

I’m glad they published this. These silly cops stop us when it’s red but look up and wait when pedestrians cross while there is a RED man. Well as we see in this, the cops don’t even know how to follow their own rules.
I know there used to be programs on tv educating people who to use these signs/lights and so on but I don’t know if it’s been stopped. They have it started again and also place boards around the streets to educate people and the police on how to use these signs and lights.
We know how people are, if you accidentally hit one of them and even if you are in the right, that doesn’t really count. You were in the vehicle and you are always wrong.
One thing I hate about cops is how they and that is only a small few of them act like real fools on the roads. One time I remember going on baseline this cop jeep as he couldn’t be bothered to drive to the end of the road and turn due to the lane separation, he and his buddies went in the wrong way towards the oncoming traffic to take the take the turn towards the next lane when was further back.
Then the great sirens a friend of once told me this was during the lunch traffic hour a police car stuck in traffic turned their siren on, the friend also conveniently followed then out of the traffic block. Well the went the same way as him, once out of the block the siren went off and they drove a bit further and then stop at some kade for lunch !!! I won’t be surprise if his story was true.
Come on SL Police we don’t hate you, we just hate you when you set the wrong example.
