Stop cheating the Tamils: Pack up and leave the country – Anandasangaree demands Tamilselvan and the LTTE leadership
Created 2006-06-26 02:22

Colombo, 26 June, (Asiantribune.com): Leader of the Tamil United Liberation Front V. Anandasangaree has openly condemned the political duplicity of S.P. Tamilselvan, Head of the political Division of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and other leaders of the terrorists outfit demanded not to cheat the Tamil people, the youths and the students. He has openly called Tamilselvan and the LTTE leaders to pack up and leave the country and join with their children who are in foreign countries having super class education.V. Anandasangaree: Please pack up and leave with your families and join your children having super class Education in various countries. Left alone, our people can look after themselves. The International Community is there if any protection is needed.

TULF Leader further pointed out that you sacrifice our youths by sending them on various risky errands to many places from where most of them do not return alive. “I am not asking you to send your children on such errands because they are dear to you. I am only asking you not to sacrifice the children of poor parents and allow them to study like your children.

In an open letter written to S.P.Tamilselvan of the LTTE, Anandasangaree exhorted the LTTE political leader by questioning, “Are you also trying to confirm my finding that the LTTE leader Mr. V.Prabaharan has lost control of his cadre and each one of them is now a leader taking independent decisions?”

Anandasangaree demanded Tamilselvan not to call Tamils anymore as their people. “They are not your people. Please stop calling them ‘our people’.”

Given below is the full text of open letter written on 19 June to S.P.Tamilselvan by Anandasangaree:

Mr.S.P.Thamilselvan,
Political Leader,
LTTE,
Kilinochchi.

My Dear Thamilselvan,

Stop Your Killings

I strongly condemn the massacre of the 65 innocent civilians and causing fatal injuries to over 70 others by your cadre at Keppitigollawa by a clay-more attack on the 15th of this month, within 24 hours of your arrival from Oslo where you went in connection with the peace talks. You should accept responsibility for this disgraceful action. No one is going to believe your denial. These types of incidents bring utter disgrace to a community once held at high esteem by the International Community.

The attempt of your cadre, obviously on your orders or with your knowledge, to sink the Navy ship with its 710 soldiers and the crew is highly deplorable. The brutal killings of the 13 civilians including women and small children and the total annihilation of a family with two children at Vankalai are also equally deplorable.

It is not a question as to who is doing all these. I am asking you as to why are these happening? Don’t blame the others for your faults. Please don’t forget that it is your sacred duty to safeguard the civilians. If you have any regard for the innocent civilians, not a single life will be lost due to your actions. But while you take the life of some soldiers you don’t fail to take the lives of some innocent civilians also and up to now you have not even tendered any apology for any civilian deaths caused by you, but keep on repeating the same mistake. You cry from the roof tops when some one gets killed due to the attack of the service personnel. Please remember that we do not have Gandhians in the armed forces, to ignore what ever happens. It is your attacks on the army personnel that provoke them to retaliate. I condemn all killings and do not justify any killing under any circumstances. I ask you to stop all killings by your cadre and see, from that moment all other killings also will stop.

The soldiers whom you tried to kill are the very same people who had been providing security for you, your leaders and your cadre to and from the Air Port and to the East. In all seriousness I am asking you as to whether you have the concurrence of your leader for your acts of this nature and for your notorious statements often ridiculed by the International Community. Are you also trying to confirm my finding that the LTTE leader Mr. V.Prabaharan has lost control of his cadre and each one of them is now a leader taking independent decisions? Good many of your statements display arrogance and disrespect on your part and does not give the impression that you are all ready for a settlement. Your frequent threats of war reminds me of the shepherd boy who used to shout “wolf’’ “ wolf” and ultimately paid for his folly with his entire flock. Similar tune is often heard from some of your local leaders and your proxy Parliamentarians. It is good for them and for all of us, if they keep quite. Let no one dream that an organization like yours can win a war by antagonizing the whole world. Tamils like all others do not want a war. They are not your people. Please stop calling them “our people”.

The country is well aware of your plans. So the International Community too. You engage your cadre in very provocative activities to instigate the Sinhalese to start a backlash. So far you have not succeeded. You tried your best to start one in Trincomalee hoping that it will spread to other parts of the country, but to your disappointment whatever happened was confined to the Trincomalee district. Will anyone with a bit of commonsense plant a bomb at the market square the day before the New Year, knowing fully well that a large number of Sinhalese men women and children will gather at that market square for their New Year marketing. The events that followed the bomb blast were deplorable. This was deliberately done by your cadre to provoke the Sinhalese. Whether they did it on their own or on the instructions from you I do not known. But the fact remains that a number of Sinhalese and Tamils lost their lives and Tamil property worth several crores destroyed or looted due to the foolish act of an individual. I hold you responsible for this irresponsible act done with the intention of causing harm to a few hundred thousand Tamils who fled their homes and living peacefully with Sinhalese and Muslims in the South. Fortunately the people are aware of your vicious intentions that there is peace in all areas other than in Trincomalee. Your massacre of 65 civilians at Keppitigollawa is another attempt to incite the Sinhalese and to provoke a backlash. But the Sinhalese have successfully defeated your plot once again.

Please note that I strongly condemn violence and do not condone any killing by anybody. No one has any right to take another person’s life under any circumstances. It is a big joke if you say that there are a number of front Organizations responsible for some criminal activities. Please admit that most of these Organizations are fictitious ones and managed by your cadre. It is you who said that the civilians are planting clay-more mines which statement was ridiculed by the International Community. The causalities in most cases happen to be not only from the army or navy but also innocent civilians. If any civilian is killed in retaliation you must take the responsibility for such killings as well. You say that you give training to the University Students for self-defense. Self-defense against whom? You mix them up with your cadre who get involved in some incident and escape. It is some innocent University Students who get killed. You gave compulsory training to the three wheeler owners and mixed some of your cadre with them. Some incident takes place somewhere and your cadres responsible for such incidents vanish from the scene leaving some innocent owners at the mercy of the forces that in retaliation punished them. I was shocked to learn that the Students Union had claimed responsibility for throwing a hand grenade at the army killing and injuring some. I totally disbelieve the involvement by any student. But if you say so, then you must take the responsibility for the killings of any such Students also.

I had said more then once that the International Community cannot be hood-winked by you. They are well aware of all your activities and are not prepared to believe bundles of lies unfolded by you.

Everyday you kill somebody from the Armed forces by throwing hand grenade or by clay-more mines or using your pistol group. A lot of innocent civilians also get killed in these operations. Yet you keep on blaming the Sri Lankan Forces for the killings without accepting your involvements. You stop your killings first and you will see that other killings all over the country also stop automatically. Whose brain is behind the call to all sections of the people to stop all work continuously for some days? Why didn’t your killings also take a holiday? You don’t know how many sufferings the people underwent and to what extent the studies of our children preparing for the G.C.E (A/L) Examination suffered.

I appeal to you to call off all your notorious activities, now that you have failed in your mission and allow the Tamil People to live in Peace. You have cheated the Tamil people, the youths and the students in particular and also the Government and the International Community including the Norwegian facilitators.

You have also destroyed our homes, our health our youths, our children’s Educations our culture and much cherished civilization. You have made all of us paupers. You have taken away our Democratic and Fundamental Rights and eroded into our Human Rights also. You are now trying to establish a totalitarian State. Please pack up and leave with your families and join your children having super class Education in various countries. Left alone, our people can look after themselves. The International Community is there if any protection is needed. But today they need protection only from your cadre. That is why they are moving to the South to live with the Sinhalese and the Muslims. Tamils fleeing to Tamil Nadu in India is to avoid going into areas under your control because they don’t want to live under your subjugation.

In conclusion I request you to spare our youths at-least now. Every day not only you take the lives of the Sinhalese soldiers and Police officers who attend only to disputes between civilians, but also take the lives of innocent Tamils Sinhalese and Muslims. You also sacrifice our youths by sending them on various risky errands to many places from where most of them do not return alive. I am not asking you to send your children on such errands because they are dear to you. I am only asking you not to sacrifice the children of poor parents and allow them to study like your children.

Thanking You,

Yours sincerely,

V. Anandasangaree,
President-TULF

Sri LankaJune 28, 2006 4:47 am

Dear Colleagues,

On Saturday June 3(superscript: rd), I went through a experience that
continues even to date to cause me immense pain of mind, not to mention
time, money, energy & effort wasted.

Just accepting delivery of a Mazda Motor Car that I purchased the very
same
day (03/06), I proceeded to the Horton Place/ St. Bridget’s Convent
Petrol
Shed (Felix Perera & Son Petrol Shed) belonging to Lanka IOC to pump
petrol
& pumped a full tank of petrol. I drove out of the petrol shed &
proceeded
passing Cinnamon Gardens Police to my residence in Wellawatte. Right in
front of the Colombo University my vehicle stalled & stopped in the
middle
of the road. With the help of some University students I pushed the car
to
the road side & attempted to re-start without success. It occurred to me
at
that time, could the pump-man have accidentally pumped diesel instead of
petrol & thus I immediately rushed in another vehicle to the petrol
shed.
It was gladdening at that moment to ascertain that the pump-man had not
pumped petrol, but had correctly pumped Octane 95 petrol. So then what
could have been the problem that my car stopped dead on me just
approximately 1 km away from the very petrol shed that I only a few
minutes
ago pumped petrol?

Luckily for me I had the presence of mind at that time to take the
pump-man
to the spot where the car was stopped together with mechanics from the
Company that I purchased the vehicle. The mechanics cranked the engine
and
squirted petrol into 3 clear plastic disposable empty water bottles & lo
&
behold there appeared to be no petrol, but instead a colourless aqueous
liquid which appeared to be water in the main, which the pump-man too
agreed was mainly water & prima facie no visible sign of petrol. The
mechanics then towed the car to their workshop & I went back to the
petrol
shed to get to the bottom of this and report the matter to the petrol
shed
owner. At the petrol shed they checked the tank connected to the
particular
pump that the petrol was pumped and they confirmed verbally that there
was
indeed water. As the owner was not there at that time at the petrol
shed, I
contacted him from the petrol shed over the phone & explained my plight.
He
was courteous & nice and asked me to contact him on Monday
5(superscript:
th) after I had got an opinion from Car Mart (I had decided to get my
car
checked & diagnosed for damage/repairs from Car Mart, the MAZDA Agents).
On
Monday 5(superscript: th) when I contacted the owner & told him that Car
Mart had indicated that it appears that petrol mixed with water was
extracted from my tank, he was still courteous & said that he needs to
conduct his own investigation & could not do so as the pump-man had not
reported to work & was on leave & assured me that if there actually was
water he would reimburse my fuel & make compensation to the extent of
the
damage. I took his word for it & did not lodge an entry with the police.
In
hindsight, I now realize that the petrol shed owner was being courteous
purely to buy time to clean up his act with his tanks & pumps & thus I
lost
the opportunity & was precluded from getting the police to seal the
petrol
shed & to take samples of petrol from the particular pump. On Tuesday 6
(superscript: th) I contacted the owner once again & to my utter
amazement
like a chameleon changing colours the petrol shed owner (Brian Perera)
was
down-right rude & insulting & took the position that his investigation
had
indicated that there could not be water in his petrol & asked me to very
simply “go fly a kite”, literally. I am told reliably that petrol shed
owners generally would have taken out insurance covering such situations
&
it is a matter of claiming same & compensating me. But, the owner &
Lanka
IOC just do not want to take responsibility.

When I contacted Lanka IOC they too were not willing to accept
responsibility.

Just yesterday I received the official technical analysis of the report
from CISIR (now ITI - Industrial Technical Institute) which explicitly
states that the sample of so called petrol contains 12% water content
weight by weight as per “Dean & Stark” method of analysis.

Under these circumstances the question is begged, to whom should an
unsuspecting & innocent citizen Perera turn to for recourse, in such a
situation?

Bottom line is that I am now wasting all my efforts legally, police,
consumer affairs, Indra Traders, going public & even to the extent of
Minister Fowzie as Interim Regulator, to get Lanka IOC and/or Petrol
Shed
owner to pay to get my car in running order which costs approximately
Rs.
140,000/-, including the cost of fuel of Rs. 4,260/- as per Car Mart
estimates.

As it is I have still not had the pleasure of driving my new car to my
home
& sharing the joy of it with my family as it lies in “limbo” at Car
Mart.
Instead what I am saddled with is an immediate out-of-pocket situation
not
to mention the virtual “hell” I have been through these past 2 weeks.

This could happen to you too !!

I hope you would bear with me for this lengthy e-mail, the purpose of
which
is twofold.

(1) to have your solidarity in boycotting this particular petrol
shed
& if possible all Lanka IOC petrol sheds. (as I understand, at this very
moment Lanka IOC is wrangling with issues with the Govt. of Sri Lanka &
their petrol sheds are not functioning);

(2) to receive your invaluable advise on the matter.

Thank you.

Best regards

Mooneil

Everyone must have heard of Shaq and Mark on Yes FM in the mornings ??? If you haven’t tune to the channel where you don’t hear songs, just two guys talking non stop !!! 

Ok, these guys are interesting but they do talk tooooooo much !!! Any they can be very annoying !!!! but sometimes funny and interesting to listen to.

Topic for the day was customer care, these two call up various questions, ask dumb questions, annoy the person they call, sometimes talk a bit of sense and basically make a fool out of the person on the other end. They have called some local companies, international companies, and various levels of people from those organisations. They are trying to prove a good point but maybe not in the best way.

Now let’s say I call the Maharaja group and speak to someone, ask them dumb questions, make a fool out of them on the radio, and later they find out, what will they do ? In one call they call a Dialog rep, I’m sure she must have heard the clip finally as it’s on their site, but well if she handled the call fine but what if she didn’t ? If her superior heard it, or as they record their customer support calls, say they played it and lets say it was bad, it made Dialog look bad, she lost her job or was the reason for the company being made a joke would that be ok from Yes FM’s point of view ?

Guys you got to make sure you take off all words relating to any company you pick on in Sri Lanka or abroad. You probably got the idea off prank calls listed on the net or by listening to a foreign radio station. It’s all good the lesson you’re trying to teach us but you are going to piss off a lot of people at the same time.

A few people wanted to see how your group would feel being on the other end so we also have made a few prank clips like you have for the viewers to see how it feels for the guys making the prank calls  No harm intended only a clean joke, no foul language or anything just like you guys do it. But you will like them and I think so will your listeners, we will send them to you and if you think they are ok you can put them on your site as joke played back on us 

You can listen to some of their clips at - http://www.yesfmonline.com/CC.html
Or - http://www.yesfmonline.com/CCClips.html

You guys are good, but could you talk a bit less and play more music ? 

Rock On !!!
Marlon

Sri Lanka 4:25 am

A friend just told me this, I didn’t think Cheers at Cinnamon Grand was like this. Well here’s the story. World cup match, place is packed, people sitting on the floor as it was so packed, so it was happening. Well in advance they had called to see if they could book a table, and no you can’t, as it’s a pub and they don’t do reservations. Fair enough. So some of them go to the place early, tables are there free but all are reserved ?They try to get a seat no, can’t it’s reserved. Guess who gets them, yeah it’s only the foreign customers. A few locals also got places, but that was only if they were know to the place, had a lot of bling or with a foreigner.

That’s crap. Another thing they told me, a small area was free, some locals tried to come there, and they were chased off saying the can’t stay there, some foreigners came there and guess what ????? They let them stay there !!!! Since those locals were there and saw it they also were given a small space saying now they can go there as it had been christened by foreigners !!!!

Well I would like to see this for myself, there are more world cup matches to go for, and well I guess it’s no surprise, I guess the other hotels in Sri Lanka also are like this ?

Naresh
