Shaq and Mark, what do we say ???
Everyone must have heard of Shaq and Mark on Yes FM in the mornings ??? If you haven’t tune to the channel where you don’t hear songs, just two guys talking non stop !!!
Ok, these guys are interesting but they do talk tooooooo much !!! Any they can be very annoying !!!! but sometimes funny and interesting to listen to.
Topic for the day was customer care, these two call up various questions, ask dumb questions, annoy the person they call, sometimes talk a bit of sense and basically make a fool out of the person on the other end. They have called some local companies, international companies, and various levels of people from those organisations. They are trying to prove a good point but maybe not in the best way.
Now let’s say I call the Maharaja group and speak to someone, ask them dumb questions, make a fool out of them on the radio, and later they find out, what will they do ? In one call they call a Dialog rep, I’m sure she must have heard the clip finally as it’s on their site, but well if she handled the call fine but what if she didn’t ? If her superior heard it, or as they record their customer support calls, say they played it and lets say it was bad, it made Dialog look bad, she lost her job or was the reason for the company being made a joke would that be ok from Yes FM’s point of view ?
Guys you got to make sure you take off all words relating to any company you pick on in Sri Lanka or abroad. You probably got the idea off prank calls listed on the net or by listening to a foreign radio station. It’s all good the lesson you’re trying to teach us but you are going to piss off a lot of people at the same time.
A few people wanted to see how your group would feel being on the other end so we also have made a few prank clips like you have for the viewers to see how it feels for the guys making the prank calls No harm intended only a clean joke, no foul language or anything just like you guys do it. But you will like them and I think so will your listeners, we will send them to you and if you think they are ok you can put them on your site as joke played back on us
You can listen to some of their clips at - http://www.yesfmonline.com/CC.html
Or - http://www.yesfmonline.com/CCClips.html
You guys are good, but could you talk a bit less and play more music ?
Rock On !!!
Marlon

1) Dialog knew about the call!
2) Dialog was played the call before airing it, Hence why the name was
announced. Names of Overseas Calls are held back!
3) Dialog approved the call. And were very impressed the way she handled it
4) She got a promotion!
5) Radio plays it for listeners and not viewers!!
6) All companies called up in Sri Lanka were called up and asked permission
before it was aired.

I am a frequent listener to the morning show and enjoy the lively conversation kept up by Shaq and Mark , though sometimes they can be a bit verbose ! : )
The general choice of topics on the show is good although some may appeal more to some than others, but then you can’t please everyone I guess.
I personally have found their style of presentation to be quite refreshing and the control and knowledge of the english language is excellent.
Where a lot of stations have to resort to being crude to be “interesting” and “amusing” Shaq and Mark do it with aplomb without a hint of crudeness and rely solely on their wit.
I tune in to the morning show each morning on the way to work and on many occasions when I was under stress Shaq and Mark have managed to relieve the stress and put a smile on my face, as I am sure they have done for numerous others. And the ideal compliment to their show is Mo, whose zany weather updates are quite amusing ( Although I am sure he means for them to be accurate ).
So keep up the good work guys and hope that your show will be around for a long time.
